What is Asset Finance?

Did you know that two thirds of small businesses aren’t aware, or have little understanding, of what asset finance is and its benefits?

Did you also know that asset finance grew month on month last year? Figures to November 2017 show a 4% growth rate for the year.

And 39% Asset Finance Brokers are expecting the demand for asset finance to increase even more in 2018!

So what is asset finance? And why is it gaining such popularity?

Asset finance is not a new type of funding but it has been overshadowed by the traditional funding route of bank loans and overdrafts.

Asset finance is different to a bank loan as the funds are raised for a specific asset, whether it be vehicles, machinery or equipment, and the business pays back over an agreed period of time in easy manageable repayments.

The Borrower can select either a traditional Hire Purchase facility or Finance Lease, whichever suits their requirements.

By spreading the capital cost of the asset over a number of years, the company can manage its cash more effectively and doesn’t impact on their current facilities with their banks.
